Forgive me if you can? An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either.
From the time of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for hundreds of years, the land of Israel was covered in oak, almond, fig, olive and palm trees. They stretched from the edge of the sea, along the valleys and on the hillsides. Then the cutting down of the trees began. For more than 600 years the armies of the Assyrian, the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans swept through the land destroying what had been built. The land was left barren and neglected. Farms were abandoned. Cities were deserted. The land was bare.
A little more than a hundred years ago, a group of Jewish settlers came to the land. First they planted small groves of olive trees, then cypress and pine. More people came to settle the land, and they planted more trees. These trees provide luscious belts of green covering more than 250,000 acres. This forest development work creates “green lungs” around congested towns and cities, and provides recreation for all Israelis. As a result of this tree planting, Israel is an
oasis in the middle of the desert.
On December 5th, 2010, the worst fire in Israel’s history consumed about 10,000 acres of forest and about four million trees. Israeli responders were helped by an international fleet of more than 30 fire fighting aircraft and ground personnel from more than 16 countries. At least 42 people were killed and more than 17,000 residents evacuated. Since then, CrossTalk has partnered with Israel to be a blessing in a very tangible way of planting new trees. It not only blesses Israel but serves as an open door to share the love of God in new ways with the people of Israel.
Today, we have humbly asked that the friends of the ministry help us to plant trees to BLESS the land and people of Israel in a tangible way. Each tree costs just $25 and will serve as a blessing to Israel for years to come.
Thank you so much for your prayerful consideration
P.S. Many people choose to plant a tree in the name of a loved one. For every tree you plant, CrossTalk will send you a certificate of acknowledgement in the name of whom you choose to honor. You can proudly display the certificate and let others know that you stand with Israel. Please make sure to indicate on the response device below the name you would like written on the certificate.
Israel is a modern miracle in the desert of the Middle East. Israel is green and thriving because believers plant trees. CrossTalk has partnered with the Land Of Promise Foundation to bless Israel by planting trees in the desert. These trees provide belts of green covering more than 250,000 acres. They are vital to the well-being of the Israeli people. Our national forest development work provides green “lungs” for congested cities and towns.
DO YOU WANT TO BLESS ISRAEL?
